Jolly Phonics: This week we
worked on the letter sounds “sh, th, and qu ” in our Jolly Phonics books. Please review these sounds and songs with
your child.
Literacy: We read the book Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse by Kevin Henkes. The children focused on strategies that good
readers use when they read. The
strategies focused on this week included predicting, retelling details, and
inferring to make connections to understand the story.
Meals
from the Heartland: We participated in the meal packaging event Thursday
in the Jr. High gym. The children had a
great time filling, sealing, and packaging the bags of food!

The children will not be dressing up in
costumes this year. Please do not send costumes
to school with your child. The students will be rotating through fun stations
during the party.
