Unit Assessment week – The students were given
the Unit 2 Assessment this week.
Science: We have been talking about hibernation this week. Angela Breis Howard County Naturalist
presented “Animals in Winter”. The
children learned the three ways animals survive the winter months. The animals migrate, adapt, or hibernate.
Math: This week we worked on one to one correspondence with
the numbers 1 to 10. The students created
counting books.
Handwriting: We worked on writing the lower case letters r, n, and m.
Writing: We read the story titled I Went Walking by Sue Williams. The children discussed how authors
observe the world and then write about what they notice. As a class the
children generated a list of things they observed just in our classroom. From the list the students then created their
own stories.
The
words I, see, the, and a were
displayed on to the word wall in our classroom. The students were be able use
the word wall as a reference when they wrote their stories.
Jolly
Phonics: Please continue to review letter
sounds at home. Thank you for working with your child on sound books and word
