Jolly Phonics: This week we worked on the letter sounds “h, r, m, and
d ” in our Jolly Phonics books. Please
review these sounds and songs with your child
Lead 21- Literacy: Unit theme “What makes me special?” This week we focused
on the question, “What are my feelings?”
Writing: We read a story called “I Love School!” by Philemon
Sturges. The children learned how to discuss the book with a partner and
generate writing topics. They then wrote
about things they liked about school.
Science: Our science topic this week was the life cycle of the
butterfly. The children have learned the cycle: egg, caterpillar, chrysalis,
and butterfly. We are really looking
forward to watching our final monarch caterpillar change into a beautiful butterfly. It currently is in the chrysalis stage. Emily our girl monarch butterfly emerged
during resting time on Thursday. It was
an exciting time in our classroom.
