Literacy: We read the book Hooway For Wodney Wat by Helen
Lester. The children focused on retelling the story
including key ideas and details. Rodney Rat wanted to fit in. He wanted to be like his classmates. Rodney couldn’t pronounce his R’s and it made
him talk funny. His friends made fun of
him. Then, he saved the day when Camilla
walked away west. Please ask your child
to retell this story by asking what happened in the beginning, middle, and end.
They can wear their Wodney Wat headband while they retell the story. The
children will enjoy sharing this story with their families!
Math: This week the children learned how to skip count by 2s, 3s, and 5s
with calculators. They discovered it was
a much faster way to skip count.
