Lead 21 –Literacy: Outdoor Explorers Unit theme “What can I learn when I explore the outdoors?”  This week we continued to focused on the question, “What can I observe as the seasons change?”

Writing:  This week the students learned about the importance of choosing a topic to write about. When writing the actual story, it is important to think about telling more, continuing to add more words to the story. The students also shared something they liked about their story.

Handwriting: We worked on writing the upper case letters L, T, J, and I.

Math: This week the students had fun finding the sum of two dice rolls.  The children worked with a partner for this activity.  They rolled two dice, found the sum, and recorded the total on a graph.

Jolly Phonics: Please continue to review Tricky Words at home. The children are very competitive when it comes to reading the Tricky Words. Thank you for working with your child on word lists and the books that are sent home in the Jolly Phonics Envelopes.
